The Texas Style Council Conference for SXSW is held in Austin and guess who's going? This girl! I got a last minute ticket thanks to Sharon @ The Lovely Mundane.
The TxSC is an opportunity for networking and meeting new people and brands, and holds a fully staged social media symposium where bloggers, brands,
and small companies can learn from top tier professionals new ways to
connect with each other, their readers, brands, designers, and
customers.
It also serves to connect women who love fashion with other women who love fashion and to raise the bar in the way we all do social media.
So excited!
Here are some of the events I'll be attending:
Clothing Swap presented by Swap.com and Lulu*s
Get to know the other attendees and their wardrobes at our first official TxSC event. Bring two of your best items of clothing to swap with other attendees. We'll tag your items with your Twitter handle, your site URL and your Swap.com username and you can swap continually through out the night with other attendees. Then hang out in the Lulu*s lounge, take home a complimentary item from Lulus.com, and spin the prize wheel for a chance to win even more fashionable loot!

One Hour Photography Workshop
Bring your cameras for an early morning photography workshop. Kev (of Iron to Iron, Encourage Others, and the same Kev of JenLovesKev.com) and Austin fashion photographer Peter Tung will do a hands-on workshop, focusing on story telling for bloggers and shop owners. You'll learn the best way to showcase your clothing, yourself, and your products using the equipment you already own. This is a must for both the blogger and the shop owner. Bring your camera... even if your camera is just your phone!

Meet at our 2nd Street headquarters to board one of two charter busses for this insanely fun day of Austin shopping (note: bus space is open to the first 100 attendees). First stop: we'll be whisked away to one of Austin's big chain thrift stores for a "Thrifting 101" workshop led by thrifting experts Pamela of Market Publique, Jessie of Style & Pepper, Jentine of My Edit, and Elissa of Dress With Courage and author of newly published book "Thrifting 101". Second stop: Austin's famous South Congress Street for upscale vintage, a quirky costume shop, an old fashioned candy store, and an Airstream trailer selling pink cupcakes. Last stop: We're back at the glorious 2nd Street District where the locally owned boutiques will have free drinks waiting, exclusive TxSC discounts, and in-store DJ's.
