Pile It On

12 March 2012

'Dressing' yourself is not the same as 'clothing' yourself.

When you dress yourself, you build an outfit, complete with accessories, and complimentary hair and makeup. When you clothe yourself, you are simply putting on something to cover up your nekkid. I am guilty of clothing myself more than I care to admit. I feel rather accomplished if I manage earrings and all my wobbly bits are covered.

So, I have placed the challenge on myself to put on three accessories every time I dress myself. That could mean jewelry, a scarf or a belt. I have quite a few scarves and belts, but am lacking in necklaces (usually because I have a scarf on) and bracelets

Lately I have found myself wanting to try out bracelets and necklaces more, and catch myself browsing for them online at Forever 21. They have a huge variety and the prices are the lowest I've seen anywhere. Here are some of the ones I am trying not to run out and buy, but probably will anyway! At these prices, how do I resist?

  1. Wow, I can't believe all of those are from F21! I need to get there asap. Accessories really do make an outfit.

It was great getting to meet you this past weekend! I look forward to following your blog, and getting some style and thrifting inspiration! Take care!

    The Mrs. and The Momma

    1. Seriously, they have the BEST jewelry for the price and that way you can stock up on tons and not spend over $25. Plus, everything is so on trend, so I don't have a heart attack when I lose an earring or a hinge snaps.

  2. I'm afraid that I merely clothe myself, all too often. One, theres no time! Two, I have nothing to wear! (haha, see my newest post) Three, early morning is seriously the WORST time for coming up with cute dressing up ideas.

Excuses excuses. As soon as I get a real job, I'm going to truly dress myself. :)

  3. Britt, these jewelry pieces are incredible. I always found cute, fun, inexpensive jewelry at F21, usually for a great bargain. =)
