Today Micah and I celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. It blows me away that we stand here, a year from when we donned our fancy outfits, gathered with friends and family, exchanged vows, and ate amazing Mexican food. We stand here a bit tattered, a little bruised, and that much more grateful for each other. A year of adventures, learning curves and one blog later, I think it's safe to say I can't wait for the next 100 together.
So today, I start with prep work. It took a lot to get this wedding together, especially with only seven months to plan the shindig. Oh, did I mention during the month of May, we moved across the state, set up an entire house, I graduated with my Master's the week before the wedding?
Micah and I were surrounded by our nearest and dearest, with 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen, 4 in the house party, 5 flower girls and a ring bearer. The poor little guy had no chance.
I did my own hair and makeup, as well as some of my bridesmaids makeup, and my mother's hair. Luckily for me, one of my bridesmaid's sisters came down to help and did a gorgeous job on the group, and kept everyone in check!
We dined on Chick Fil A nuggets and champagne in the rooms while we prepped, posed for countless photos and tried to calm our nerves for the upcoming ceremony.
Also. Micah did his own hair and makeup, for the record. Such a self sufficient man I married.
