{Beauty Mark} Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo

10 May 2012

Oily hair season is here again. I have some seriously curly hair (read: dry with a tendency to frizz) and it protests being washed. So, I have to deal with a sweaty, product ridden scalp for most of my week.

Sexy, right?

I find myself planning my hair wash days around the events of the week, and prioritizing my activities based on clean hair. I have used baby powder in my hair for years to mask the greasy roots and give my hair the volume it lacks after a couple of days of non washing.
I recently started experimenting with dry shampoo, and have really loved what I'm seeing. There are some that are leaps and bounds above others, and I have found one brand in particular that not only controls the oil, but builds volume and adds a touch of shine. There is no George Washington-esque white tint and the smell is heavenly. It smells nothing like a baby's bottom, or really any powder at all. It has a fresh, almost fruity smell that even got Micah sniffing my head.

With disturbing frequency actually.

It's Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo! It runs around $3-$4 in most drugstores, and is really the best low cost version out there that I've tried. It's light, smells gorgeous, and really builds volume and leaves my roots soft.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a light, great smelling dry shampoo that really leaves the hair feeling a bit cleaner.

  1. We are twinsies! I bought the dry shampoo by sauve last night from cvs! Crazy! I am trying it tomorrow since I plan on NOT washing my hair tonight, hehe! I am really excited though because this is going to be life changing...and I hope I don't stop showering, haha!

    1. Really?? It really is the most awesome stuff! I know, sometimes I worry that this is the easy way out and eliminates the needs for showers, period. I'm such a boy.

  2. I LOVE dry shampoo. I am currently using Bed Head, but I'm running out. I'm definitely going to take your recommendation.

  5. I definitely need to try this! My hair is limp and straight and requires washing pretty much every day, this is STILL difficult root season for me! I use baby powder too, but it totally does leave me looking like George Washington sometimes. Even if I have JUST washed my hair, if I ride my bike to work, it is already sad looking when I arrive. Definitely going to cart this around with me, especially for that price! Thanks for sharing :)

    1. Yeah, I feel ya. This is so fine that it really goes on without a trace. I have a ton of hair, but it's very fine and after being straightened, it needs all the help it can get. It gets oily so much quicker straight and I put a heck of a lot of work into it, so I want to extend the life of the blowout as long as possible. Plus, it gives it a little extra oomph!

  7. Thanks for sharing! I've tried using the Tresemme one an I don't like it very much. I find it makes my bangs even greasier by the end of the day :( Not cool!

  9. I will definitely be giving this a try! I have been using a Biolage dry shampoo, and for the price, it's only okay. I'm still on the hunt for one that doesn't give my dark hair a greyish tint.
