April Showers... In March

29 March 2012

April came early this year. Well, the showers anyway.
Two photos into this session, the sky opened up and we took cover to keep my camera from getting wet. That and it's dangerous if I get wet. Sugar melts.

After the horrible drought that completely parched Texas last year, I'm not going to complain. In fact, I love the rain. It makes me miss Seattle. A lot.

Luckily for me, I also love umbrellas and rain boots, so this was a great time to break out one of my two favorite umbrellas! I found this lilypad umbrella in a boutique that was going out of business for a mere $3. Score! I'm currently in the market for a pair of yellow rain boots, so hopefully by the next gusher, I'll be stylin' like Paddington Bear.
Tee: Anthropologie (2011)  Jeans: Forever 21 (2008)
Scarf: Forever 21 (2008)  Flats: Target (2007)
Earrings: Banana Republic Outlet (2011)  Umbrella (2008)

With everything popping up green and the flowers blooming, I'm getting excited for a year with running rivers, full lakes, no flesh eating bacteria breeding in standing water. Central Texas is stunning this time of year with the wildflowers, blooming trees and cool fresh air, and I can't wait to get out in it!

  1. Cute pics! I also wanted to tell you I used the Sally Hansen nail effects last night. SO EASY! I was shocked. I think I'm too old for pink and purple tie dye, but it will be fun for a few days. I would def use them again.

    1. Oh yay! They take a little finesse, but are way less complicated than you'd think!

Yeah, they have some more demure colors/patterns for the faint of heart. I loved the dark purple one that I have on in that post, as well as the soft pink one.

    1. Haha there is a little more to that quote that southern women like to say, but I don't think it's blog appropriate. I'll have to tell you Saturday when I see you!

  9. Favorite thing in this post - that you post the years of clothes. How do you even remember that? I have clothes in my closet from high school but I could not tell you the exact year of any piece of clothing in my closet :)

p.s. I love that I am not the only one who wears "not completely new" clothes. Yay for "being green"?

    1. Haha I have no idea really... I think for the most part, I remember where I was in school, so that usually helps me pinpoint the year. I'm kind of a steel trap when it comes to dates, events, and anything to do with music.

I have a few things from high school that I know will never part with, but I think that as long as they're still relevant and fit well, why not? Not everything you wear has to be brand new. It's all about the remixing!
