Remember my post about hating having an audience?
Well, I got to face that fear head on today.
This is my bashful face. |
There is a golf course a couple of miles from my house, and they have a great area near their maintenance shed that always has great light, and some really awesome doors. Micah and I pulled up to the shed, excited to finally get to shoot next to the doors, and found we had a... visitor.
There was the golf course maintenance man walking around the area, so we decided to shoot quickly. Well, "Ernesto" (we found out his name later) decided to come around to check out what we were doing, and decided to stick around and watch us work. A lot of these photos wouldn't work because I'm very obviously holding in a laugh, or smirking because he's rustling around in the bamboo behind us.
Ernesto chillin in the bamboo |
At one point, our new friend even got so bold as to suggest I try posing on the picnic bench he was sitting on, and even gave me a pose to try out. I politely told him the outfit worked better standing up and we shot a few more before getting back in the car and laughing until we cried. So, thank you Ernesto for making life a little more creepy.

Have you ever found yourself entertaining an audience for your outfit posts?
Also, I've had this skirt since I was 17. 9 years. I don't have a problem...?

Hahaha, this just made me burst out laughing! Too funny. I love the picture of you slyly pointing to him rustling in the bushes and the fact that he actually suggested how you pose on the picnic table. What. A. Creeper!
ReplyDeleteI know! I was trying to get Micah to get a picture of him before he completely disappeared in the bamboo. If we pointed the camera at him for too long or too directly, he'd move deeper into the bamboo, so we had to be stealth with this one!
DeleteHaha, I can't believe Ernesto was giving you photo tips! I love the pattern mixing here and I never would've known your skirt was almost a decade old. It still looks fresh and modern :)

The Tiny Heart
I know! It was my favorite part! He was sweet, and I'm sure well meaning, but it didn't keep me from being creeped out. I can't believe I've had this thing almost 10 years, but I seriously can't stop loving it.
DeleteI love the skirt! And I love even more that your visitor gave you photo tips, haha, hilarious.

Oh, trust me, I was painfully awkward. I even told Micah at one point that I'd rather be chewing glass than continue the shoot!
DeleteI already feel awkward when I'm using my self timer and no one is around, just the idea that someone MIGHT come in... So I can totally imagine that with Ernesto looking on haha.
Deletelove this skirt ... thanks for stopping by my blog, just finished checking yours out and I am now a follower!! yay!!

Well thanks! I thought this was a private location, as it's on top of a hill and behind a golf course. But somehow I managed to find me an audience!

Thanks girl! Sometimes life cracks me up and I hope I can crack others up with my stories!
DeleteOMG, your post had me cracking up. Usually when I have an audience I'm the weirdo, and everybody runs off to their cars. The creeper pic is so funny, I don't think I'd be as smooth as you if somebody were to watch and critique my posing. I love that you pulled together two different prints for this outfit, super cute! Thank you so much for commenting on my blog, it was really sweet of you :)

Thank you! Haha luckily I had my husband to make very quite cracks to as I was posing. He definitely diffused the situation!
DeleteI really love the anthro top. And the brown belt breaks up the patterns & helps them work together

Oh gosh, thank you! I feel so honored! I will have to check it out!
DeleteHaha!! I love that picture with him in the background. Hilarious! And nice job on keeping the skirt around for so long! I don't think I own anything from 9 years ago....
ReplyDeleteI am always shocked at how long I keep clothing. I think that's why it's so hard for me to buy certain pieces, because I know they won't be hanging around for long!
DeleteYou made me smile! Awesome One Woman Show. Wait, plus Ernesto.
ReplyDeleteI mean, let's be honest. He stole the show.
DeleteI love this, so cute! Great print mixage xx Sarah
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit, you look so lovely! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty outfit, I love the mix of pastel patterns. The wedges are a great color too! Ha, I had an audience last week and they were totally laughing at me, so embarassing! Your post made me laugh :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment and follow, I'm following back now.
Thank you! Yeah, I have a feeling that in this city, I'm going to have all sorts of interesting run ins with bystanders.
DeleteThis makes me laugh. Really? Who does this Ernesto think he is!?! Love the outfit. Don't you just love stuff that is still wearable from highschool? It really goes against the whole "if you haven't worn it in a year, throw it out" rule. :)

The Mrs. and The Momma
I know! He was pretty bold, but at least he was confident in his abilities! And YES, I love finding that my taste in high school wasn't completely off base! Oh heavens, I never throw stuff out. Usually it's only after it no longer fits or has been damaged beyond repair!
DeleteI was dying laughing at the creeper picture!! Haha! So glad I'm not the only one who has stuff from high school (and yes, a few things from jr. high!)! I have this weird phobia of getting rid of clothes. Mostly, it stems from the from the fact that I know the second I give it away, it will be back in style the next day. The other mostly comes from the fact that I have hoarding tendencies.

A Sigh and Sanity
AMEN. I have done that so many times and then realized that I needed it for an outfit or could have used it for something random. So maybe now I have this mental block about getting rid of things...?
DeleteLove ur outfit cute skirt
